Well what a start to 2011! Never a dull moment at Eskape, on a very sad note, we had to say a final farewell to our lovely Louisa, who has at last taken the plunge into pursuing her alternative nutritional career.
We’ve all tried to encourage her in this and she’s been struggling with the dilemma for the last four years!
She goes with all our love and support and, with such a strong bond formed between us, have no fear she’ll never be a stranger to the salon, staff and clients alike.
And so, who to take over the blog she’s kept everybody so entertained with up until now?! I thought it only right that I write the first to kick-start us into the New Year, then it’s been agreed it will become a team effort to keep you all informed of our Eskape news!
And what an exciting year ahead!
To begin I would like to introduce our brilliant new member of staff, Jade. A senior stylist, brought in to help cater for the increasing number of clients and very carefully selected. In a lengthy recruiting process, where many were turned away, I was determined to find that certain sparkle in somebody who would not only be a team player (crucial in anybody wanting to work at Eskape), but who would also have everything the clients say they want in an ‘Eskapee’!
Described in more detail in our new Eskape team profiles page, Jade has a very warm, friendly personality, is an industry award winner and has the highly skilled edge required at Eskape. The staff all returned in January in fine form and raring to go, and have certainly kept me in check, getting everything in order and well prepared for my maternity leave prior to our first baby’s arrival in April. I will be returning on Sat 25th June.
It’s certainly adding a very exciting new dimension to my life and I’m very much looking forward to meeting our little one, now fondly known as ‘Little Monkey’!
This has however required good planning as far as ensuring the smooth running of Eskape while I’m gone and making my beautiful Eskape girls’ job as easy as possible so they can focus their attention on all of you!
Otherwise, I’m sure there’ll be the usual influx of charity fundraising, promotional evenings, special offers and social events throughout the year that we’ll keep you posted on. Already in the early stages of planning are an evening to promote girls night pamper packages, including relaxing head massages, glamorous up-do’s, nails and even botox and fillers provided by Becky Green.
There will be sessions to learn how to do your on hair-up styles, plait or blowdrys. We are also planning to increase the salon opening hours to include some Mondays (by request) and later in the year, open until 9pm on Thursdays as well as Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
